He marries this experience with specialised qualifications in corporate governance holding the inaugural UCD Diploma in Corporate Governance. It is this combination that equips him with the knowledge and experience to conduct constructive non-executive director oversight of both performance and conformance. He is an accomplished communicator and presents a course on the Role of Non-Executive Directors and Corporate Social Responsibility at the UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business. His career spans the retail, financial services and software sectors where he held senior management posts in marketing, sales and general management. He worked at Superquinn for many years where he was instrumental in establishing the organisation�s highly successful competitive positioning during its formative years. He then moved to Bank of Ireland where he held a number of posts including Head of the Group�s mortgage business; international Group strategy; and Head of CRM. He subsequently joined Irish software firm Managed Solutions Corporation where he was responsible for the business development team operating in the domestic and international markets. He currently acts as a business consultant advising clients on corporate strategy and governance and has a particular interest in the field of corporate social responsibility. He also takes a special interest in the regulatory challenges facing the not-for-profit sector assisting voluntary organisations adopt best practice in governance. He is a member of the Institute of Directors in Ireland and The European Corporate Governance Institute.
